The insulating cable sheaths are colour marked after insertion onto a conductive core. The insulated conductor is then passed through a painting chamber (21) with spray nozzles. First an absorbent pulp sheath (19) is inserted onto the conductive cable core. While still wet the insulated core is passed through the paint chamber. During this passage a paint layer is produced in the region of the insulating sheath surface. The paint spray nozzles form a paint mist to which the sheath surface is exposed, while avoiding direct impact by the paint jet. Passage control provides regulation of the paint layer intensity. Subsequent drying completes the cycle.
|
