<p>The warning device is for reminding vehicle drivers and passengers to fit safety belts and provides an optical and/or an audible warning which can be manually switched off. The device is added to the ignition switch (1) which when closed passes current through a closed switch (4) to a light (35) and a buzzer (2). To switch off the signal the passenger closes a pressure switch (8) allowing current to pass to a magnet (5) to open the closed switch (4) thereby cutting off the signals. When the ignition is switched off, the power to the magnet is cut off allowing the closed switch (4) to reclose in readiness for the next journey. This enables a warning device to be fitted to the vehicle after assembly which does not limit the choice of the driver of whether to wear a seat belt.</p> |
