The stationary grate is for use in cooking appliances, and has a grate tray with cooking spaces or positions which project outwards. A pair of upstanding adjustable supports (131) are provided, by means of which limited repositioning of the grate tray (2) relative to the grate frame (1) may be achieved in a direction normal to the vertical front surface (10) of the grate frame (1). The adjustable supports (131) are mounted in longitudinal slots (252) within coupling slides (25) which are fixed to the underside of the grate frame (1) and which form supports.
