<p>The coupling consists of a first half (1) which has a number of equally spaced radial slots (4) and a second coupling half (2) which has a equal number of radial protrusions. They fit with a large amount of play in the slots of the first coupling half. The play is taken up by self-aligning pads (6). The pads consist of rectangular plates (6a) which are integral with part cylindrical pivoting sections (6b). The pivoting sections are positioned centrally and parallel to the long sides of the plate. They are mounted in the first coupling half either side of the slots, to fill the gasp between protrusions and slots.</p> |
