The flap valve is for cutting off gas and giving a vacuum-tight seal in, e.G. vacuum-coating equipment, without any risk of gas leaks into the vacuum enclosure. Two cylinders (1, 2) are eccentrically connected by a plate (3) with a built-in seal ring (4), which forms the valve seat, engaging the flap (5). The flap can be rotated by the lever (8) and linkage (6). The flap (5) can move relative to the lever (8) by sliding the bolt (7) in the slot in the linkage (6). The closing mechanism is attached to the seating plate (3) and consists of a flexible metal bellows (13) and shaft (11). The shaft is pressed down through the bellows to lower the flap (5) into place on the seat.
