Compsn. for lining river or canal banks - using hot mixt. of bitumen and limestone fed onto bank via hot water pipes (NL 11.7.77)

Building mixts., permeable to water and contg. bitumen, are processed underwater. The novelty is that the mixts. are conveyed on the site in open pipes, and the permeability of the mixt. to water is adjusted to the water in the conveyor pipe is not displaced. The mixt. pref. contains by wt. 10-30% bitumen mortar and 90-70% stone, where the smallest size of stone is 4-16 times the largest size of the mineral constituent in the mortar. The mortar pref. has a viscosity of 500-1000 poise at 70 degrees C., and mixt. pref. has a temp. of 50-95 degrees C on the base of the conveyor pipe. The water in the conveyor pipe may be preheated; the pipe may have a double wall and/or be telescopic. The lower side of the piple may also be flat. The pref. use of the mixt. is for lining the banks of rivers or canals.
