Dispersion machine has a rotor with passages running from inside to outside inclined at angle in the opposite direction to that of rotation. Surrounding this is a stator element which forms a narrow gap between the stator and the rotor, this causing shearing in the liq. ejected from the rotor. The rotor passages are straight and of uniform cross section. The radial thickness of the rotor ring and the inclination of the passages are selected so that on the inner side there is a smaller angle and on the outside a larger angle between the passages and a tangent to the inner and outer circumferences of the rotor. The ratio of inner to outer dias. of the rotor should not be 0.15, and pref. be 0.5-0.58 at most. The system described uses relatively low power input, gives a high pressure delivery and produces a good dispersion with high efficiency.
