The hydraulic powered key is used for undoing or tightening heavy nuts or screws with a large mechanical advantage. It has a hydraulic power system which operates an open ended or ring spanner, or an Allan key or square tang key. The key may be operated either a clockwise or anti-clockwise, with or without ratchets or pawls. A slot is used to bolt a spanner head in place at any point according to lever arm needed. The driving arm is moved by a hydraulic cylinder, with a pumping arm as actuator.
