Ceramic injection moulding machine - keeps mould halves slightly apart during injection before moving together

Injection-moulding machine produces ceramic mouldings in the leather-hard state, i.e. they can be handled without risk of damage during baking or other subsequent operations, the ceramic mass being thrust under pressure into a split mould. During injection of a quantity of material corresponding to the dimensions of the moulding the halves (12,31) of the mould are held slightly apart, so that only partial filling of the space between them takes place. The mould tool on the injection side (10) is then shut off, and the halves moved together into the final position. In this position they form with a section of the mould ready for use (16) a space corresponding to the shape of the finished article.
