1479961 Shuttlecock skirts DUNLOP Ltd 13 March 1975 [22 March 1974] 12805/74 Heading A6S An integrally moulded shuttlecock skirt comprises diverging stems 1 joined at their convergent ends to form an end ring 2, whose end remote from the skirt is closed forming a U-shaped member in longitudinal cross section having a nose stem 4 providing anchorage for a striking cap. A striking cap (Fig. 5), can be affixed by providing a ring- shaped projection 5 (Fig. 4), of varying weight, on nose stem 4 and securing the cap thereto. The end ring 2 has an axial length L of 2-10 mm, an internal diameter D of 4-12 mm and a thickness of 0.3-1 mm. The skirt is formed from plastics material in a suitable mould the nose stem 4 being formed by the inlet port of the mould. |
