A water-insoluble azo dyestuff of the formula <IMAGE> wherein D is an optionally substituted aromatic or heteroaromatic radical free of ionic groups; X is hydrogen or optionally substituted alkoxy; Y is hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl, hetaryl, alkoxy or phenoxy or -NHR4 wherein R4 is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl; R1 and R2 are hydrogen or alkyl and R3 is optionally substituted alkyl and its utility in the dyeing and printing of hydrophobic synthetic fibers and films such as polyesters.
