1505241 2 - Acylated -1 - phenoxy - 1 - [1,2,4- triazolyl] - 3,3 - dimethylbutanes BAYER AG 7 Jan 1977 [10 Jan 1976] 00547/77 Heading C2C 2 - Acylated - 1 - phenoxy - 1 - [1,2,4 - triazolyl] - 3,3 - dimethylbutanes of general formula wherein R is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl, optionally substituted-phenyl, -phenoxyalkyl or -phenylamino, alkylamino or dialkylamino; X is halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, alkylthio, alkoxycarbonyl, optionally substituted-phenyl, -phenoxy or -phenylalkyl, amino, cyano or nitro, n is 0-5, the Xs being selected independently of one another when n is 2 or more, Az is a 1,2,4- triazolyl-1 or 1,2,4-triazolyl-4 radical and their physiologically tolerated salts and metal complexes, are prepared by reacting a compound of formula with (a) an acid halide Hal-CO-R in the presence of a solvent, the hydrohalide so formed being converted to the free base, if desired; (b) an acid anhydride RCO-O-COR in the presence of a solvent and optionally in the presence of a catalyst; (c) a ketene in which R<SP>1</SP> is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or halomethyl, in the presence of a solvent and optionally in the presence of a catalyst or (d) an isocyanate O=C=N-R<SP>11</SP>, in which R<SP>11</SP> is alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl, in the presence of a solvent and optionally in the presence of a catalyst and, if desired, the product from the variants (a) to (d) is converted to a physiologically tolerated salt or metal complex thereof. Amongst numerous examples the compounds 2 - acetoxy - 1 - (4 - chlorophenoxy) - 1- [1,2,4 - triazolyl - (1)] - 3,3 - dimethylbutane and 2 - (4 - chlorophenylcarbamoyl) - 1 - (2,4- dichlorophenoxy) - 1 - [1,2,4 - triazolyl - (1)- 3,3 - dimethyl - butane are prepared. 1 - (4 - Chlorophenoxy) - [1,2,4 - triazolyl - (1)]- 3,3 - dimethyl - butan - 2 - ol is prepared by borohydride reduction of the corresponding butan-2-one. Fungicidal compositions contain a compound of Formula I as active ingredient in admixture with a solid or liquefied gaseous diluent or carrier or with a liquid diluent or carrier containing a surface-active agent. |
