Splinter extraction machine for log - has bell shaped auger on splined shaft and is driven by chain saw reduction gear

The machine extracts metal splinters and other foreign bodies from logs. It is suitable for mounting on any chain-saw engine equipped with a reduction gear, by means of clips, and comprises a bell-shaped piece (15) driven by a splined shaft (16), and equipped with an auger spiral on which cutting tools are fixed. The piece is fed into the wood by a linkage (4-8) controlled by a rope (18). The clips can fit over the cone at the reduction gear output, having sliding adjusting plates. The tip of the shaft engages in the bark of the log so as to stabilise the tool, while a ball-type thrust bearing (13) acts against the top of the bell-shaped piece.
