The wheel (1) of the mechanical digger consists of a flange disc (2) with sleeve (3) fixed to the wheel proper with bolts and nuts (4). Inside the sleeve (3) is a six-sided tube (5) which fits onto the six-sided end (6) protruding from the housing (7). A locking and unlocking axle (8), which has no outer covering along a height corresponding to one of the surfaces of the six-sided tube (5), is enclosed in a cylindrical tube (10) inside which it can turn by at least 180 deg. The locking axle (8) is held inside the housing (10) by means of a coil spring (11), with a pin (12) going through the axle head. The casing has a hole in through which passes a standard fixture pin (13).
