Electrically controlled multicell mail box - has doors to each cell with individual keyholes and master key facility

The multiple compartment mail-box (1), may be deployed at an apartment block, and has an electrically controlled locking door (3) to each compartment. Each door may have a narrow slit (5) for letter insertion. The control system enables each door to be opened individually by an authorised key-holder, or all opened simultaneously by mail delivery personnel. The latter facility permits the delivery of parcels. Each door may have an identity plate (4), and keyholes (7) are mounted on a side console (6) with a repeating identification mark (8). The keyhole for the master key is also mounted and identified (F.T.) on the console. Each compartment may be equipped with an electro-magnetic lock, and electro-magnetic auto-closure mechanism, and springing which moves the doors open when the circuit is energised and the bolt withdrawn.
