Pure nickel is obtd. hydrometallurgically from nickel material by (a) attacking the matl. in the divided state by chlorine in an aqs. medium, in the presence of a mixt. of ferrous and ferric chlorides, (b) eliminating at least partly the iron in the soln. from step (a) by contacting the soln. with a liq./liq. org. exchange phase, (c) eluting the liq./liq. org. exchange phase by contacting with a first aq. regeneration phase, (d) eliminating the residual metals other than nickel in the soln. resulting from step (b), and (e) electrolysing the soln. from step (d) with deposition of pure nickel at the cathode.
|
