The safety barrier is made from plastic components and is rot proof and quickly installed. It comprises triangular section uprights (1a), having rounded edges to prevent injury, and top caps (2). The base has flaps cut each side and recessed inwards to form a key with the concrete base. The rails (5) are made from flexible plastic tubin, wound on drums and unrolled as required. These rails pass through clearance holes (4a) in the posts, being held loosely. Lengths of rails are joined together by means of sleeves (8) passing through a suitably placed upright. Each free end (5, 5a) of a rail is pushed into the sleeve.
