<p>A mortise lock can be used for doors with either handing. The lock consists of a casing with U-shaped sliding bolt guided in penetration of face strip and further by locking pin fitted to the slim part of sliding bolt. The casing is provided with two openings for a cylinder lock assembly. The two openings are arranged symmetrically to the horizontal symmetry line of the casing. Alternatively, openings for plain bit keys can be provided. The bit of the cylinder lock assembly or of the plain bit key moves the sliding bolt by acting on its locking jaws. The rear end locking jaw is provided with the locking pin. The casing is fitted with pin around which the retaining plate swivels and serves together with pin to block the sliding bolt in its terminal positions.</p> |
