Between bumper and cab there is pref. a positive coupling which coordinates their pivot movements, and which consists of a pivotable attachment of the bumper to the chassis and a crank arm attached to the cab with its crank pin guided in a slotted lever on the bumper side. The pivot axes of cab and bumper are parallel to each other. The bumper may be held against the chassis in its operative position by means of a spring, pref. a leaf spring which also forms part of the slotted lever. At least the surface of the crank pin may be made of a wear-resistant material which has a low coefft. of friction relative to steel, e.g. nylon.
