Coating gelatin capsules contg. pasty stain remover - with after-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride soln. for resistance to high humidity and heat

In the packaging of a water-free stain remover with min. content of low-mol. alcohols in rupturable portion capsules based on gelatin, the parent patent covers the use of a soln. of a water-insol. plastics (I) in a chlorohydrocarbon solvent (II) for treatment of the outside of the finished capsule. The improvement comprises the use of a soln. of after-chlorinated PVC (Ia) in CHCl3, CH2Cl2, C2H4Cl2, C2H3Cl3 and/or C2HCl3 contg. 5-20 pts. (Ia)/100 pts. soln. Coating with the (Ia) soln. pref. takes place in a fluidised bed drier. The coating is insoluble in water and protects the capsule from the effects of high humidity and/or temp. (Ia) is readily soluble in (II) and forms a cohesive film which adheres well to the capsule material.
