<p>A spring loaded or flexible element in a chamber is affected by a flowing medium, and its position is electrically scanned in order to determine the rate of flow. The element is fitted in the chamber in a rectangular screen, and forms one of its closing edges. One of the screen axes of symmetry is parallel to the element movement direction. Pressure from the medium downstream from the screen is guided towards the element side opposite to the chamber, supported against it by a spring. The flowmeter may be adapted for use with the liquid or gaseous fuels.</p>
