Diagnostic X:ray appts. heating voltage control - uses transformer with slider driven by motor connected in tracking loop

The diagnostic X-ray appts. has its heating voltage stabilised by an electromagnetic circuit. The inductance of this circuit is adjusted by a transformer with a slider to set the required heating voltage. The slider is driven by a motor via a tracking control that derives its actual value input from a potentiometer mechanically coupled to the slider of the transformer. Alternatively, the actual value for the tracking loop may be derived from a DC voltage proportional to the effective heating voltage. The advantage lies in reducing the number of components needed when several X-ray tubes are being operated and/or remote control is used.
