The exhaust turbine housing and intake union is subdivided into two channels (18,19) by a dividing wall (17). A turbine wheel separating wall (21) joins the housing separation wall and extends over the length fo the turbine blades (22) to divide the blade channels into an inner (23a) and an outer channel (23b). In order to select one or both channels, the exhaust manifold connecting section is provided with a regulator flap. The flap is connected to a servo which could be a pressure box connected between the super charges air cooler and the air intake throttle.
