<p>The striking surface for safety matches is in tape form and with perforations. It is primarily intended to permit separate storage of the matches and the striking surfaces in the interests of safety for children. The tape is made up in a reel and is perforated in such a way that matches can be threaded through it, being ignited by pulling out. To raise the safety level further, a length of tape sufficient for only a single match can be torn off the reel.</p> |
