1478793 Upholstered seats U OP Inc 23 Jan 1976 [25 Jan 1975] 3406/75 Heading A4M A vehicle seat, e.g. for a tractor, comprises a seat pan 10 into which a foam cushion 11a is fitted, a wire frame 12 moulded in or otherwise secured to the cushion 11a, a cover 11b overlying the cushion 11a and peripherally secured to the frame 12 by stitching, hog rings or staples, the cover 11b being formed integrally with or separate from the cushion 11a, and formations 10d on the seat pan 10 which have a snap engagement with the wire frame 12 to secure the latter to the pan 10. As shown the formations 10d comprise tabs struck out of the base 10b of the pan 10 and provided with notches into which the wires of the frame 12 are snap-fitted. Alternatively the formations 10d may comprise either plastics hooks secured to the base or resilient hooks fitted to tabs pressed upwardly from the base.
