<p>1494289 Instrument panels CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 23 Oct 1975 [29 Jan 1975] 43641/75 Heading B7H A vehicle has a dashboard assembly 10 comprising an instrument panel 12 pivotally mounted by hinge means 18 along its upper edge on to the structure of the vehicle cab, with support means including a member 24 connected between the panel and the cab structure to support the panel when pivoted out of its normal operating position (in full lines in Fig. 3) to an open position permitting access to the underside of the panel (two dotted positions in Fig. 3). Support member 24 is pivotally mounted on the panel 12, by a pivot pin 26 and bracket 28, and has an elongate slot 32 receiving a guide pin 34 which is secured to the cab structure by a bracket 46. The slot 32 is formed with two shoulders 38, 40 which act as latch means to engage the pin 34 under the bias of a spring 42 fitted on pin 26, to thus support the panel 12 in respective open positions.</p> |
