A bearing (20) for the horizontal rotor shaft (11) is arranged in a movable bearing-support member (16) which is fastened on a stationary housing (15) by means of a series of flexible spiral springs (25). A cavity (30) between the bearing-support member (16) and the housing (15) receives a damping-fluid film. In order that the weight of the rotor does not cause any non-symmetrical loading of the spiral springs (25) and of the damping-fluid film, a beam-shaped auxiliary spring (45) is arranged between the housing (15) and the bearing-support member (16), beneath the horizontal central line of the rotor. The auxiliary spring (45) is prestressed and exerts a force on the bearing-support member (16) to compensate for the weight of the rotor at rest. <IMAGE> |
