摘要 <p>1381926 Screwing machines SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 15 March 1972 [17 March 1971] 11987/72 Heading B3N [Also in Division B8] In an apparatus for unscrewing and screwing - on the caps 32 on compressed gas bottles 31, the screwing-on operation is terminated by a device which senses that the cap has been fully screwed on to a "blocked" condition (i.e. sufficient to resist the normal unscrewing forces that can be applied by a user) with a maximum tightening torque of, e.g., 10 mkg. The rotation of the unscrewing and screwing-on spindle 38 is then reversed with a maximum torque, e.g., 20 mkg. sufficient to cause "deblocking" of the cap, this unscrewing rotation being automatically stopped and limited to a small fraction of a revolution. An empty bottle 3 with a cap 4 is pushed off a conveyer 13 into the reception cradle 33 of one of the working posts 2 spaced around the turntable 1 by a pusher 15, and there contacts a feeler 30 which causes the bottle to be centred coaxially with the spindle 38 and gripped by the member 36. It is then raised towards the spindle 38 by the jack 35, and when the cap 32 enters the unscrewing and screwing-on member 41 at the lower end of the spindle, it contacts a feeler which starts the unscrewing operation which involves gripping of the cap by the member 41, rotation of the spindle 38 by its own drive motor via force limiting coupling 39, which transmits a higher unscrewing then screwing torque, and simultaneous lowering of the bottle by the jack 35. The operation takes less time than it takes the turntable 1 to rotate, to position 8 where the centering device 36 opens and the bottle without its cap is ejected by the jack 21 on to the conveyer 17. A full bottle without a cap is pushed into the working post 19 with a cap by the jack 20 from the conveyer 18, and contacts the feeler 30, initiating the screwing-on operation which is similar to the unscrewing but in reverse, followed by the deblocking described above. The capped bottle 5 is ejected by the jack 21 on to the conveyer 22.</p>
