1309833 Roller conveyers MANNESMANNGEISEL GmbH & CO 16 March 1970 [15 March 1969] 12642/70 Heading B8A Points for a roller conveyer system have a single switching blade 106 actuated by a magnet 113 controlled by impulses stored in coded strips 116 provided on a bin 114. The points have driven rollers 102, 103 and there are additional support rollers 124, 125. Stationary guides for the bin comprise guides 107, 109- 112 some of which may have their working surfaces coated with plastics material. The bin, on its underside, has rollers 117-120 for engagement with the guides 109, 110 and pins 121-123 for engagement with the guides 107, 111, 112. In Fig. 1, with the blade 106 moved to the shown position the pin 121 of the bin is directed into the branch guide 107, the rollers 117-120 are guided by guides 109, 110 and the pin 123 engages the guide 112. With the blade 106 in the straight-ahead setting, Fig. 2 (not shown), similar guiding is effected but the pin (122) engages the guide (111) and the pin (123) no longer engages the guide (112). To avoid the touching of adjacent bins while they are travelling over the points, the speed of the driven rollers 102, 103 is increased relative to the speed of the driven rollers of the remainder of the system. |
