The combined lifting and unlocking mechanism for "lift and roll" type sliding metal gramed windows, has under frame carriages operated via a lever mounted on a vertical mobile frame post, and effects simultaneous raising of the frame into the rolling station and disengagement of a hock bolt from the fixed frame post. The lever connects to the carriage via successive vertical and horizontal linkages contained within the frame section. The transition from vertical to horizontal linkage motion at the frame corner is effected via articulating linkage entrained via a pin in a circular slot.
