<p>The fuel injection pipe (1) is connected between the fuee pump and the injector (4) by union nuts (8, 9) consisting of extended hexagonal tubes which push into the ends of the fuel pipe cover (10, 11) ends with suitable 'O' rings providing the necessary seal. The two legs of the fuel pipe cover enter an elbow joint screwed to the cylinder head (18). The elbow joint seals off the lubricating oil filled chamber n21) from the outside and the respective injection pipe covers (10, 11) enter the elbow joint via sealed bore (19) in the cylinder head wall (18) and a flange connection (22) and a bore in the elbow joint cover. A sensor device causes the engine to stop should a fuel pipe burst and fuel enter the elbow joint.</p> |
