<p>A vertical cylindrical evaporator of te type with a coaxial rotor to spread a film of liquid on to the interior surface of the cylindrical shell. This rotor shaft carries end-fixed, longitudinally-fluted and radially-perforated, cylindrical drums which are internally fed with liquid to be treated which runs down the flutes and is sprayed centrifugally thro. the perforations on to the heated shell surface; each drum has a top cover fixed to the rotor shaft and serving to spread feed liquid evenly on to te drum flutes as well as to guide vapour down between drum circumference and shell surface. Between drums, a centrifugal separator takes liquid draining form the upstream drum and delivers it on to the top cover of the downstream drum for spreading on to its flutes.
