Phosphate layers are hardened by a process which modifies DT 1274419 and comprises coating the surfaces to be protected with a dispersion of gel, phosphoric acid, and metallic salts of metaboric acid and of the alkali group. Pref. the dispersion is provided in base coating material such as alkyd resin paints, epoxy resin paints, epoxy ester and/or oil paints which are applied cold in one work cycle. |
