<p>1282649 Heated curlers CALOR 19 March 1970 [30 July 1969] 13393/70 Heading A4V [Also in Division H1] An electrical curling iron of the type disclosed in Specification 1203711 comprises a thermostat assembly including an elongate insulating support 5 on which are mounted stationary and movable contacts 10 and 11, the support 5 being mounted on a plate 6 on which is mounted a bi-metallic strip 9 in thermal communication with a heating resistor element 1. The strip 9 is in contact, at its free end, slidably mounted in a hole 16 of the support 5, the other end of the member 15 being in contact with the movable contact 11. As the temperature of the strip 9 is increased, the movable contact is urged from the stationary contact 10. The thermostat is adjusted by means of a screw assembly 20 adapted to move the stationary contact 10 relative to the movable contact 11. A printed circuit 30 is preferably employed in the handle assembly 2 and may comprise connections for a device enabling the apparatus to be used at different supply voltages and a pilot lamp.</p> |
