Variable volume horns for cars - with automatic control to operate louder tones at higher speed unless manually overridden

The car is fitted with several horns (1,2) of different tones and with different volumes, all operated by a horn button (5) and by an automatic circuit (A). This selects the horn output w.r.t. vehicle speed, so that increasing speed results in a louder tone, to enable other road users to have sufficient warning. The circuit monitors the vehicle speed and switches the horn button via a control relay. A manual override control (4) can be operated in conjunction with the horn button to activate the loud signal at low speed if required. The system ensures that in town traffic, at lower speeds, the quieter signal is operated, while on motorways the loud signal is used.
