The wall hook for the cord (42) suspension of e.g. framed pictures is formed by folding (18) pre-cut thin metal plate (A), and is fixed to the wall in a manner that inhibits rotation of the anchorage. The primary plate (A) is of pear-shape with equal length top (10) and bottom (12) flats defining a central vertically elongated rectangular zone (34). Equal length slits (14) flanking the top of the central zone form a rectangular tab (16), vertically aligned holes (30, 32) are provided in the tab (16) and a point somewhat below and identical notches (26) in each lateral cheek (20) obtain opposite hook formations (28). The tab is folded down through 150 deg., and the two cheeks towards each other through 90 deg. to obtain the finished hook. A headed pin (40) is driven through the two holes (30, 32) and inclined at 30 deg. to the horizontal.
