<p>The polyester connector sleeve (1) is for plastics large dia. pipes and has embedded reinforcing fibres. Its diameter is smallest at each end enclosing a pipe, with an arched intermediate section (13). The short straight end sections (5) of the sleeve (1) each contain an annular groove (7) of square cross-section, enclosing sealing rings (9) of "Neoprene" (RTM). Each sealing ring (9) has inwardly-projecting lips (11) pressing against the pipe surfaces. The embedded fibreglass strands increase the sleeve rigidity and tensile strength. The slender intermediate arch of the sleeve gives extra flexibility to the pipe joint.</p> |
