<p>Appts. for the control of a sewing machine, when stitching patches or badges of irregular shape to a fabric. A rotary disc is fitted to the presser unit against the stitching plate with the edge of the disc up against the needle. The axis of the rotary disc is mounted parallel to and at a variable interval from the needle and the disc is exchangeable. The rotary disc is operated by an inching gear, which acts with the needle or fabric advance drive. The mechanism compensates for the irregular path to be followed by the stitching, where a regular stitch length would not accommodate the curves, without requiring complex template changes.</p> |
