The rotary piston engine has a cylinder with trochoidal surfaces and a triangular piston with curved sides. The piston has an internally toothed wheel which drives an eccentric shaft. To ensure smooth running the engine is fitted with balance weights. Instead of fitting balance weights directly to the engine shaft the magneto laminations (6) are fitted in a housing provided with lugs (4,5) and bolted to the blades (3) to the cooling fan (1). This method eliminates the need for separate balance weights and reduces the total engine weight.
