The blade holder (10) for a shearing tool is inserted into a blade bar (2) which carries spaced wedges (4) fitting into a long recess in the blade holder (10). The section of the blade holder which has the recess has chamfered mouths for inserting the wedges. The chamfers are perpendicular to the blade holder longitudinal direction and interrupt the recess edge. The wedge spacing corresponds to the spacing of the recesses. The wedges (4) are connected by a strip (3), and can be adjusted by this strip along the direction of the bar. The wedges (4) are tightenable and the strip (3) which connects them has a setting rack (5) which points towards the wedges (4) and is stepped in a sawtooth manner in the longitudinal direction of the blade bar (2). This setting rack (5) has a matching rack, and the teeth can slide against each other for longitudinal adjustment.
