<p>An electrically neutral and/or acid-resistant housing is in the form of a metal cup or container with an insulating or protective coating on both sides, and furnished with a closure lid. Both the container and its lid are produced by deep-drawing from metal plate laminated on both sides with the protective coating material. Pref. an aluminium plate with a plastics laminated coating on both sides is used. A rim or beading of conventional type may be used for fitting the lid onto the container. To produce an airtight seal, the two components may be welded together at their junction, esp. by H. F. seal welding. Grooves or other points of intentional weakness may be incorporated to ensure rupture at a predetermined place if internal excess pressure occurs. A silicone rubber sleeve may be introduced between the lid and the vessel. Used for acid-resistant containers, for foodstuffs containers or for electrically insulated housings and vessels. By comparison with previous practice, the lid as well as the vessel itself is simply manufactured from metal, esp. aluminium sheet coated on both sides with plastic material.
