<p>The pneumatic brake control operates in conjunction with a dynamic retarder, with the friction brake force reduced by an amount equal to the effect of the retarder. This provides an accurate brake control with a reduction of brake wear. The amount of dynamic retardation is measured by a coil fed by a retardation dependant current. It operates a servo on one end of a yoke with the servo having a piston coupled to the brake line. The other end of the yoke is coupled to a second servo operated by the pressure in the brake line. The pivot of the yoke is on a movable roller operated by an axle loading servo. The brake control is fast and responsive with direct coupling of the different parameters to the yoke control.</p> |
