<p>Method of beneficiating an ore which contains metallic values in the form of refractory oxides and pyrometallurgically reducible metallic compounds, involves subjecting the ore to pyrometallurgical reduction to produce a metal-refractory oxide compsn. The metallic portion of the compsn. is the reduced product of the pyrometallurgically reducible metallic compounds. The compsn. is subjected to electrolysis in an aqueous medium to solubilize substantial part of the metallic portion. Substantially metal free refractory oxide product is recovered from the electrolytic cell.</p> |
