Hydrophone positional data and seismic reflection data are obtained and recorded digitally, much as in Specification 1394533. Whereas the first streamer provides seismic data relating to depth-points laterally offset from the boat course line, the second streamer's data relates to "in-line" depth points (i.e. in a vertical plane through the course line). Processing of the data (no details given) from both streamers enables normal moveout as well as "in-line" and "cross" components of dip moveout to be separately evaluated.
