PURPOSE:To improve the utility and to save the memory capacity by replacing a received message into a required sufficient message, storing the message again into a storage means and saving an excess part. CONSTITUTION:A selective call signal and a message received by an antenna 101 are fed to a control section 106 and the message is stored in a memory 105. Then the message stored in the memory 105 is displayed on a display section 108 by depressing a display switch 114. When part of the message is changed, a message change switch 116 is depressed to allow the control section 106 to send a change start signal and a bead character of the message on the screen is surrounded by a cursor. In the case of changing the character, the character in the cursor is changed till the character in the cursor is a desired character through the depression of the switch 116. Then a new character is stored in the memory 105. When the character is eliminated, the cursor is matched and a character decision switch 119 is depressed.
