摘要 <p>1397419 Battery charging circuits GOULD Inc 21 July 1972 [31 Aug 1971] 34115/72 Heading H2H A circuit for charging a battery 28 comprises an A.C. source 25, a bridge rectifier 27 and a transformer 26 having a leakage reactance which enables a suitable charge terminating current to be supplied to the battery without undercharging or overcharging the battery. The leakage reactance is provided by mounting the transformer windings on a common core but separated from each other by an air gap. Initially contacts T1a, T1b of a timer T1 are closed and as the battery approaches full charge a relay coik K1C is energized sufficiently to close contact K1 and start the timer T1. At the end of a pre-set time the contacts T1a, T1b are opened to terminate the charge. A timer T2 having a contact T2<SP>1</SP> enables periodic recharging of the battery and a thermistor 31 provides a temperature dependent control of the relay. In a modification a circuit including a thyristor and a Zener diode controls the current through the relay coil. The relay may be replaced by a thyristor.</p>
