1380979 Animal feed FLOYD RUSH CORP 9 Nov 1972 [29 Dec 1971] 51774/72 Heading A2B [Also in Divisions B2 and C1] An apparatus for drying and compressing garbage, comprises lower hot plate means, upper hot plate means and means for moving said upper and lower hot plate means toward and away from one another, feed means for placing garbage on said lower hot plate, and scraper means for scraping garbage from said lower hot plate means and said upper hot plate means. Heating may be at from 212‹F to 900‹F. The apparatus is suitable for converting garbage, which is primarily food waste, into animal feed. The apparatus is illustrated with reference to Figures wherein in Figure 1, 11 indicates the garbage and the apparatus comprises conveyor belt 12, metal detector 14, hopper 15, upper grinder 20, conduit 25, hopper 26, feed tubes 28, lower heated plate 45, upper heated plate 46, piston rod 48, scraper 51, garbage chute 54, bin 55, chute 60, hopper 61, lower grinder 62 and bag 65.
