A carburettor (14), a fuel pump (12) and a metering pump (46) are contained in a common housing (10). The fuel pump draws fuel from a tank (32) and has a throttle on the inlet so that the discharge pressure is less than the pressure in the inlet pipe. The pump discharge (38) has an excess flow connection to the tank, a main flow (44) to the metering pump and a bypass (52) to the low load jet (76) of the carburettor. The main jet (72) is fed from the metering pump (46). A connecting pipe (110) from the carburettor to the metering pump puts pressure on the membrane of the latter when the main throttle (28) is closed. This shuts off the main fuel flow leaving the low load bypass (52) open.
|
