Compositions for the treatment of diarrhoea comprise one or more polyamide resins selected from poly-#-caproamide, polyhexamethylene adipamide and polyundecanamide together with a pharmaceutical carrier and/or an additional active ingredient (e.g. an antibiotic, for example framycetin, paromomycin, karamycin, gentamycin or neomycin; an intestinal antiseptic, e.g. 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-hydroxy-quino- line, benzonaphithol, sulphanilamido thiazoleformaldehyde or hexamethylene tetramine; or a vitamin active compound, e.g. biotin or pyridoxal. They may be in conventional forms for oral administration, e.g. granules, tablets, capsules, pills, syrups, emulsions or suspensions. |
