Cup-shaped roller does not pick up dirt from the surface and roller bearing is less likely to be clogged. Roller is journalled on a shaft which is attached to a plate which pivots about a further shaft coincident with the vertical and offset w.r.t. the axis of the roller. Caster rollers are attached to the base of spinning cans.
